A ancient Pino Loricato towards the sky
“The Guardians” or “I Gendarmi” are two monumental trees inside the Pollino National Park
Great example of “Pino Loricato”, a species of pine native to mountainous areas of the Balkans and southern Italy.
The mountain called Pollino (m. 2240) gives the name to the entire Pollino National Park (placed in the South of Italy, between Basilicata and Calabria).
